MetaMask Chrome extension
Even though you can install the extension via the Chrome store, to remove the installation of the current knock-off edition floating around, you should install it from the official MetaMask website.

Now you can follow the below procedure to download the extension on your device.

First, you must move to the official MetaMask website using the URL https://metamask.io/download/.

Then, scroll down the homepage and press the Install MetaMask for Chrome button.

Or you can hit the Chrome icon.

On the pop-up window, choose the Add to Chrome option.

Next, tap on the Add Extension tab to re-confirm the installation.

After this, you should wait a few minutes to finish the installation and launch it to set up a new wallet.
