Summary
My high-profile utilities client is looking for an Administrator to join their team Based at their Bristol offices on a hybrid basis (2-3 days a week on site) on an initial 6-month contract with chance of extensions.
As Administrator you will be responsible for the coordination and development of the NGED and Electricity System Operator (ESO) Statement of Works processes. This key interface with NGESO ensures visibility of embedded generation at a transmission level and enables NGED to understand future transmission constraints that will impact NGED's network and customers.
Main Responsibilities
The primary areas of responsibility are Project Coordination, Data and Process Development, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement and include the following:
Working autonomously and where appropriate, seeking support and guidance from SoW Team Leader
Stay up to date with ECR, Queue Management, D-T interactivity, Connections Policy STs and best practices guides and how they interact with SoW
Help embed Whole System thinking within the business, ensuring that we are developing an efficient and coordinated energy system.
Actively participate in regular liaison meetings with National Grid, focussing on clearly articulating issues and opportunities for development
Proactively investigate and resolve data issues impacting SoW and associated processes and datasets.
Using initiative to test, review and feedback on wider business data projects and their alignment with team and business objectives.
Take opportunities to engage with the wider business to communicate the SoW process and how it impacts the wider business.
Creating and delivery of SoW training content to NGED employees and external stakeholders to improve understanding of process.
Use of NGEDs financial systems for raising invoice and Purchase Orders
Provision of adequate Cancellation Charge information to allow economical and efficient network planning and development.
Take into consideration the impact of SoW process on customers and net zero targets
Flexible and able to pick up wider Whole System work focussing on the cooperation and coordination with other energy sectors.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and have the ability to communicate effectively both, verbally and in writing, and must be able to represent the company positively at all times. You must be reliable, well organised and be able to work as part of a small team and you must be able to work using your own initiative. Excellent IT skills are essential and experience with NGED internal systems e.g. CROWN, E5 and GitLab is desirable, although full training will be given on the applications used.
The successful candidate will be process driven and have a focus on data quality to enable effective management of the Statement of Works interface. They will engage with internal and external stakeholders including NGESO on a regular basis, so strong communication skills are essential. Good organisation and the ability to use own initiative is required as part of this role. They will proactively identify opportunities to improve the existing process and work closely with the wider business to develop and implement new strategies. A full UK driving licence is required and able to travel across the NGED geographical area. The successful candidate may initially be appointed on a designate basis.
