The Governing Body of Acland Burghley School is seeking to appoint an exceptional Administrative Team Leader to join the Central Administration Team. The main aims of this role are to act as second in charge in the Central Administration Team to the Central Administration Team Manager, deputising for them in their absence, to line manage the team of 5 Administrative Officers, and to act as Personal Assistant to Head of School.
The successful candidate will have experience in - and a passion for - customer service, high level organisation and prioritisation skills, and a genuine interest in working with young people. Previous experience in line management and in a PA role, especially within an educational setting, would be an advantage.
The post holder will lead the team who are the first point of contact for visitors and telephone calls to the school and therefore will need to create an excellent first impression to all. They will need to demonstrate exemplary professionalism and proactivity and be able to deal with a wide range of requests in a busy, highprofile setting.
The post holder will be required to undertake a wide range of high-level administrative duties, including taking the lead in some specific areas, and will therefore need to be highly organised, have excellent IT skills and the ability to balance the varied requirements of the role. They will be expected to line manage the Administrative Officers and, with the input of the Central Administration Team Manager, demonstrate the ability to drive the core admin function of the school by appropriately delegating tasks and meeting whole
school deadlines.
They will need strong communication skills and the ability to form positive relationships with staff, students, parents and visitors. Above all, applicants for the post should demonstrate a commitment to working to support the school to enable every child to succeed.
