Over the past few years, Salford CVS' delivery portfolio has grown to incorporate a wide range of project and service areas. As a result, we need to increase our capacity at Management Team level. This is a new role and the successful candidate will lead Salford CVS's work to support and encourage local people to be active citizens - through traditional volunteering routes and also via other kinds of citizen and community participation.

The postholder will adopt an asset-based approach to working with individuals and communities; recognising and building on existing strengths and resources and working collectively to bring about positive change. You'll be passionate about promoting the Five Ways to Wellbeing and ensuring we have workstreams covering all five areas: Connect; Be Active; Take Notice; Keep Learning; Give.

Our new Active Communities Manager will bring together existing volunteering projects and new ideas in order to further develop our organisation's approach to active citizenship.

Excellent leadership and partnership skills. Significant project and operational management skills and experience. The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Inclusive communication and interpersonal skills. Experience of effectively line managing a team of paid staff. Experience of working with volunteers. Commitment to playing a proactive role in the organisation's participation in emergency response and humanitarian assistance work.
