The successful candidate will be:
Responsible for managing the day-to-day organisation of the clinical coding team at one of the NHS Gloucestershire Hospitals, i.e., deal with enquiries, liaise with senior clinicians, participate in multi-disciplinary meetings. As well as support the Head of Clinical Coding and the Clinical Coding Manager on the other Hospital site. Will ensure that all admitted patient episodes are coded in a timely manner and to a high standard of accuracy in accordance with National and local standards. Identify training needs when highlighted by the Trusts audit programme of work and liaise with the Head of Clinical Coding and Training manager to provide the necessary training identified. Additionally, to be responsible for prompt and accurate assessment of Trainees development under their management. Ensuring that Trainees progress from being a mentored learner to coding independently, subject to audit and supervision. Identify data errors on the computer system and correct or refer to the appropriate member of staff.
