Accountant
Salary: c 30,000 - 40,000+ depending on skills and experience

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join an established and reputable firm of chartered accountants based in Hull. As an integral member of their team, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of accounting services to their clients. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified professional who is looking for a new challenge and has a strong background in a practice environment.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Preparation: Prepare year-end accounts for a variety of clients from different sectors, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Statutory Audits (Desirable): Conduct statutory audits for clients, demonstrating a thorough understanding of audit procedures and ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Tax Calculations: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and computations, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Client Management: Manage and develop relationships with clients, providing excellent customer service and addressing their accounting and financial needs.
Financial Analysis: Analyse financial statements and reports to identify areas for improvement and provide insightful recommendations to clients.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members to ensure the smooth running of accounting projects, sharing knowledge and expertise as needed.
Software Proficiency: Utilise accounting software such as Excel, Iris, Sage, Xero, and Quickbooks to maintain accurate financial records and streamline processes.
Compliance and Regulations: Stay up to date with changes in accounting and tax regulations, ensuring that clients are informed and compliant.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a practice environment, with a strong background in accounts preparation, statutory audits, management accounts, and tax returns.
Qualifications: Either qualified or part-qualified (e.g., ACCA, ACA) with a solid understanding of accounting principles and standards.
Client Relationship Management: Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, providing excellent customer service and understanding their unique business needs.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to clients and colleagues.
Software Proficiency: Experience using accounting software such as Excel, Iris, Sage, Xero, and Quickbooks to efficiently manage financial data and produce accurate reports.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify financial issues, analyse data, and provide strategic recommendations.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial calculations, ensuring compliance with regulations and minimising errors.
Team Player: A collaborative mindset, willing to work closely with colleagues and contribute to a positive and hardworking team environment.
Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
