Pertemps are helping to expand their delivery team and are seeking dedicated individuals to join them as van delivery drivers for heavy furniture items.Shift: 13:30-22:00 As a delivery driver for heavy furniture, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customers receive their purchases safely and on time. You will be responsible for delivering a range of large and bulky furniture to residential and commercial locations. The ideal candidate should have experience handling heavy loads and possess excellent customer service skills. Experience as a multidrop van driver is preferred.Ability to speak clearly with customers and understand their requirements is a must!This is a 3.5 tonne vehicle - a clean, valid manual UK driving licence (or no more than 6 points)Automatic licences cannot be accepted.You will need to complete an online Induction prior to attending an in person Induction on site.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely and efficiently transport heavy furniture items alongside a porter to designated locations.Follow planned delivery routes to optimise time and fuel efficiency.Assist with loading and unloading furniture from the delivery vehicle (3.5t van).Conduct pre-trip and post0trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and complete the relevant paperwork.Provide exceptional customer service, including communication with customers regarding delivery times and any potential issues.Collaborate with the warehouse and logistics team to coordinate deliveries.Complete delivery paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.RequirementsValid Manual UK drivers' licence with a clean driving record.Previous experience as a van delivery driver, especially with heavy and bulk items.Ability to lift and carry heavy furniture with assistance.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work as part of a team.Excellent time keeping skills.Knowledge of safety protocols for heavy lifting and driving.
