Following up on the formidable Ferrari 458 was the ferocious 488 GTB and its drop-top Spider sister, which arrived on the scene in 2015. Welcoming one of Modena's greats to Duke of London, we're proud to present this stunning 2016 488 Spider, finished in Blu Corsa. Despite the progressive styling, Ferrari was keen to point out that the 488 was 85 per cent new compared to its predecessor. The greatest change was the introduction of a punchy new 3.9L twin turbocharged V8, which produced much more power than the old naturally-aspirated unit in the 458. All that translated to scorching performance figures - we're talking 0-62mph in just 3.0-seconds, 660 bhp and - of course - a top speed of more than 200mph. For the performance-minded, the 488 shifted up through its seven gears 30 percent faster than its predecessor and could downshift 40 percent faster. In short, that meant hugely satisfying, near instant gear shifts when pulling on the 488's glorious carbon fibre paddles. With a body styled to reduce drag and boost downforce, alongside a much-improved suspension setup and brakes based on the marque's wild V12-engined LaFerrari hypercar, the 488 had handling to match its potent performance. This particular 2016 model is finished in Blu Corsa (a £7,100 option) with matching Blu Scuro Alcantara centres on its carbon fibre racing seats, Blu seatbelts, Blu stitching and Blu logoed floor mats. A carbon fibre front spoiler, side air splitter, under door cover, central bridge, dashboard and driver zone cap off the styling, while the infotainment set up is enhanced by a DAB radio, Apple CarPlay and a JBL Premium sound system.
