It has all the usual spec

It may be the first time that Orian have offered a baby motorhome within their coachbuilt range, but Auto-Sleeper aficionados will notice that the Zeta isn’t completely novel. In fact, it has inherited the old model Auto-Sleeper Nuevo body, which has been coupled with the new Peugeot Boxer cab. It’s fractionally shorter and narrower than the new Nuevo.

Inside you may also recognise the twin inward-facing settee layout, although the fabric is a complete contrast to the conservative-looking Nuevo. Sky blue and a cloudy-cream is the colour scheme, which is certainly striking. Next to the rear-nearside door is the kitchen and bathroom, while the fridge is beneath the worktop forward of the door (where the television is also bound to live on site). The simple cabinetry is light in hue and eye-level lockers surround the lounge and the cab areas, providing plenty of storage space.

The kitchen offers a full cooker with an electric hotplate – useful as a backup in case you run out of gas – and alongside is a stainless steel sink and drainer. The fridge is Dometic’s small 77-litre version and a cocktail cabinet is placed above this for a couple of bottles of your favourite tipple.

The bathroom is practical with its white moulded-plastic finish, Thetford cassette toilet, and separate showerhead that is used in conjunction with a plastic shower curtain.

Motorhome interior - Orian ZetaThere are some niceties here that weren’t included on the old Nuevo, however, including exterior access to an underfloor locker, new trim and graphics, and the Ultraheat mains-powered space heater. The water and waste capacities are the same as the new Nuevo, though, at 73 litres fresh and 38 litres waste.

As standard, the Zeta (like the new Nuevo) is offered on the 2.2-litre Peugeot Boxer, which offers 100bhp – up from the 85bhp 2-litre of the old cab. Other optional extras include reversing camera, driving camera, a Heki 3 sunroof, inboard fresh water tank.

Summary

Smart graphics and a practical layout for two make this a good bet for couples who want a more modern-looking ’van from the Auto-Sleeper stable.
