This is my ZS that I've owned for 14 years. Comfortably the best, most fun car that I have owned (I always drove Rovers or MGs), so I'll be very sad to see it go (it's why I've hung onto it since I SORN'd it in January 2021, and why I've already owned three cars subsequently (I can't find anything that I like as much!)).
It was always well looked after, has a very full service history, and was usually serviced by MG Rover specialists.
It has been garaged since January 2021 so the outside shots are the most recent I could find, prior to it being SORN'd. The other shots (wheels, bonnet, interior) were taken today. The battery has been disconnected, so the mileage of 210,000 is an educated guess, although the actual total might well be lower since its final year of use was during the various Covid lockdowns. Comes with two keys.
Average condition: paint probably a little faded, as you would expect for a 19-year-old vehicle, but would probably polish-up well; a few scuffs, dings and marks, again as you would expect (there's noticeable paint touch-ups on the front air dam and bonnet, plus a crease and lacquer peel on the NSR door where a builder's pick-up nudged it - see photos). Inside (it looks better than the photo, to be honest), there's the usual cracking on the driver's seat bolster (see photo), but there's no saggy headlining that you often find on these as this was replaced a few years ago.
The engine bay is oily. At its last MoT in 2020, the tester, who knows these cars well, said he thought it was coming from a cracked pipe at the front of the engine (possibly power steering, can't remember, to be honest).
Would be nice if someone can get it back on the road - it will need new tyres, discs, pads, and some TLC, but hopefully nothing too major. It will need to be taken away via trailer.
