celebrate the NHRA's 50 year anniversary in 2001 and Pontiac being
a major sponsor of the NHRA for many years. In 2001 there were only
145 produced as the NHRA option added $1,070 - $1,095 to the
sticker price and included a Hurst manual 6-speed (3.42 ratio),
power-steering cooling, P245/50ZR16 performance tires, and
NHRA-specific badges. The appeal of the 1SH option package (NHRA
Special Edition) is parallel to the appeal of any 'Anniversary

powerful LS1 which is actually a Corvette's LS1 5.7-liter engine.
It has the Ram Air intake that boosted power to over 325 horsepower
and everything else inside the engine compartment looks just as it
did as it left the factory. It also has four-wheel disc brakes, a
6-speed manual transmission and rides on factory wide chrome mag
wheels and black sidewall performance tires to keep the Ram Air
Firebird planted to the ground. Interior The TA has a black leather
power bucket seat interior and an option list and standard
equipment a mile long including power locks, dual airbags,
anti-lock brakes, tilt wheel, cruise control, keyless entry,
updated stereo radio with the original AM/FM/CD stereo in a box,
power windows, air conditioning, Rear Spoiler, leather Steering
Wheel Trim, Center Console, Power Steering, all factory gauges
including a Tachometer, and power antenna, and the 6-speed Hurst
shifter. In the trunk it has a modified setup for speakers to the
stereo system as well as speaker covers and the original parts they
replaced too. Exterior Our TA is painted in original black paint
that looks good and is set-off by the T/A emblems, NHRA Edition
emblems, as well as the Ram Air hood scoop, factory ground effects,
rear spoiler, removeable T-Tops, and louvered side scoops. It has
alot of accessories added: 2 12 inch JL Audio subwoofer 12W0v3
