We had the pleasure of offering this 1997 Jaguar X300 XJ6 4.0 LWB Sovereign in our 1st auction last year, and the car is back again for sale with us today.
Just over 73K miles from new.
From the outset we wish to highlight that in 2011 this car was subject to an insurance claim and thus is registered category D. So minor was the damage that the then owner repaired the car and kept it for several further years.
Finished in titanium metallic, the exterior paintwork is in excellent overall condition, save for some light stone chipping to the nose of the car and a small area of superficial paint corrosion under the driver's sill edge. It's barely worth pointing that out, except that the rest of the car is so nice, you would no doubt want it perfect in all respects.
The interior is resplendent in swaths of oatmeal leather, with matching color-coded piping, and it is all in lovely order with minimal wear. Walnut veneer abounds as you would expect, but it's all correct, nothing feels ostentatious, even for 2022. The interior is a real treat to relax into, whether from the driver's perspective or the passengers.
The extra treat for this car is the fact that it is a longwheelbase example. Noticeable in the rear doors if you linger on the side profile pictures we have posted. That extra 5 inches over a standard model turns the rear of this car into a state room, and ensures much easier access in and out of the back seats and superior comfort for the rear seat passengers.
Pirelli tires fitted to all wheels, which are the 16 inch fluted original equipment sovereign examples. Even the spare wheel is a fullsized matching alloy with a 5th Pirelli tire, and appears unused.
Service history is extensive and while we won't go into it here in huge detail, rest assured this car has always had care lavished on it, with preventative maintenance being the order of the day. For example, the underside was fully waxoiled in 2017, and the under bonnet area reflects a car that has had this care, such is its cleanliness.
MOT 14/3/24.
