Looking back at the 1980s, there are only a handful of motors that have come to epitomise the era. The E30 is definitely one of those cars. Worshiped for iconic styling and all-round great performance, the E30s have truly stood the test of time, increasing in desirability year on year.

This 1985 BMW 318i (E30) Convertible by Baur, is a rare car to find today especially in this fantastic condition. Known as the Top Cabriolet 2 (TC2), this E30 shape convertible by Baur followed on from the success of the E21 Top Cabriolet by Baur.

Whilst many DIY Baur style conversions have appeared over the years, finding a genuine TC2 is a rarity as they were an expensive option from BMW. This one was officially converted by Karosserie Baur before it was delivered to its first customer in 1985.

It comes with the original instruction booklet showing owners how operate the Cabriolet soft-top, clearly a novelty feature back then which needed a separate detailed book.

The low mileage is supported by a plethora of history and from our inspections it is clear that it has been well maintained in all areas.

The paperwork shows recent work for suspension parts including shock absorbers, sports springs and exhaust system, and previous MOT test certificates.

This convertible presents extremely well in Polaris Silver with a dark blue roof and a pinstripe. Both the paintwork and interior trim appear to be in wonderful condition. The seats show little evidence of use and the carpets are in good order. The dashboard shows no cracking or marks and the roof mechanism works well.

Even the original radio cassette player works!

Overall this delightful convertible is ideal for both summer motoring or long term investment.

The buying team comprises seasoned motor industry professionals: our backgrounds span retail sales, fleet management, auction, wholesale, and service, inspection and maintenance. Having grown up with, driven and loved countless classics ourselves, we know what our customers look for: models and marques piquing current market interest; examples that are in excellent usable condition and order; and vehicles that represent a sound, good value investment.

An online portal search for any classic model will list several hundred vehicles across the UK. The unfortunate truth is that the vast majority, under scrutiny, will prove sub-standard, misrepresented or require uneconomic restoration or repair. Finding a good vehicle without motor trade experience is not for the faint-hearted.

Warranty:

We want every customer to be confident in their purchase. Whilst we sell nationwide, many of our sales are local, with some customers revisiting to buy, sell or service more vehicles.

To ensure a worry-free motoring experience, we include our own pre-owned vehicle warranty and provide full servicing and support on-site.

The price of every car includes a six-month warranty for major component failure: engine, transmission, and final drive. For the first three months, it covers the cost of any essential parts and labour. Thereafter we provide a 50% discount on any essential parts and labour for the remaining three.

We also operate our own on-site workshop offering specialist classic vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs. The same mechanics that inspected and prepared your vehicle for sale will be delighted to keep it in good working order throughout your ownership.
