STUNNING 1980's ORIGINAL VINTAGE 'MIKE BENET FORMALS' LABEL EMERALD GREEN SEQUINNED PARTY OR STAGE DRESS! A STUNNER!

I have owned this dress from new. It was purchased in OXFORD STREET, LONDON during the 1980's when I lived and worked in the city. I only wore it on a couple of occasions and have not worn it at all for at least 10 years now - it has remained covered in a wardrobe. It no longer fits and needs a new owner who can show it off!

MEASUREMENTS:

BUST: Approx: 16 INCHES - under-arm to under-arm

WAIST: Approx: 14 INCHES - straight across front

LENGTH: Approx: 38 INCHES

FABRIC: HAS NO FABRIC LABEL. I WOULD DESCRIBE IT AS A METALLIC GREEN 'LAME' FABRIC WHICH HAS A BEAUTIFUL SHINE TO IT.

THE BODICE IS SEQUINNED. THERE IS NO GIVE TO THE FABRIC SO YOU MUST BE THESE EXACT MEASUREMENTS OR SMALLER FOR THIS ITEM TO FIT!

The BODICE of the dress is FULLY SEQUINNED back and front in EMERALD GREEN SEQUINS!

For some reason - the camera/video make it appear more of a JADE GREEN - it is NOT JADE GREEN - it is a true bright EMERALD GREEN!

The bodice is BONED (like a corset) which gives it good shape.

The LARGE RUFFLES ON THE SHOULDER STRAPS can be worn on the shoulder or off-shoulder to suit.

The skirt has TWO FITTED PETTICOATS underneath - one being a STIFF BLACK NET - which gives the skirt it's fullness. There is also a LARGE BOW to the left hip.

ISSUES/DEFECTS/DAMAGE - MUST READ BEFORE PURCHASE!

This is a VINTAGE DRESS which is now almost 50 YEARS OLD and may show some signs of general wear - no garment of this age will be perfect!

THE MAIN ISSUES ARE:

1: The inside lining and upper petticoat (not the net) has some discoloration/fading - this is simply due to age. Nothing which shows on the outside of the dress.

2: The bra cups are a little grubby/dusty. They are only lightly tacked in, so could be removed and washed or replaced very easily with some new ones.

3: Some slight discoloration to a few sequins under the arm-pits - nothing horrendous and unlikely to show when the dress is worn.

OVERALL - THIS REMAINS A GORGEOUS DRESS IN A VERY STRIKING COLOUR - WHICH IS STILL VERY WEARABLE AND WOULD BE PERFECT FOR ANY KIND OF STAGE PERFORMER OR A PERFECT 'CHRISTMAS' DRESS FOR THE FESTIVE SEASON or FOR IRISH 'ST PATRICKS DAY' EVENTS!
