The Kawasaki Z900 A4, also known as the KZ900, was released in 1976 and was the fourth generation of the Z900 series. It was a major update over the previous model, with a number of improvements to the engine, chassis, and suspension. The engine was enlarged from 819cc to 903cc, and the compression ratio was increased from 8.5:1 to 9.5:1. This resulted in a power increase from 81bhp to 82bhp at 8,500rpm. The torque curve was also improved, giving the bike better mid-range performance. The chassis was also strengthened, with thicker tubing used in the frame and swingarm. The forks were redesigned, and the rear shocks were now adjustable for preload and rebound. The brakes were also improved, with twin disc brakes at the front and a single disc brake at the rear. The Z900 A4 was a critical and commercial success, and it is now considered to be one of the most iconic motorcycles of the 1970s.
