There are so many remarkable things to say about this 260z and we will be glad to share to them with you.Supplied new to the UK in 1974 as a right-hand drive manual, this very early 260z is an extremely rare car to see on the road today. Especially with it having matching numbers and presented in its factory specification and colour, following a beautiful nut and bolt restoration.Ward & Thompson Motors had the pleasure of delivering it to the first owner in September 1974 and was registered on VKX 260N which it still wears today. As you can see from our photos, the original service book confirms the registration number, manual transmission and was finished in 307 Blue. The supplying dealer looked after the car incredibly well in its early years with 6 services recorded in the first 2 years – all of which are stamped in the original service book and come with an invoice too. It then had a further 11 services recorded in the book up to 1999.On top of this we have supporting invoices for these services and many more receipts and invoices for parts and servicing at Nissan dealers, Toyota dealers and various other independent garages over the years. The history and provenance are consistent with no lengthy gaps whatsoever and has been arranged in date order for any potential buyers to easily read through. More recently the car has been the subject of an immaculate, authentic restoration retaining as much originality and period correctness as possible. The only thing we could fault was an incorrect steering wheel. However, since taking the car in, we have tracked down an original steering wheel to finish the job. The Pacific Blue Metallic paintwork is wonderful, and the black leather interior and factory wheels all look amazing too. Amazingly it still has the original engine fitted, which has been refurbished. We can also see all the glass across the car has the original registration number etched into it which is great to see.All in all this is an opportunity not to be missed. I doubt we’ll ever see another Datsun as good as this one. In terms of originality and presentation, it is unrivalled. We highly recommend popping down to see the car. It is offered with a recent MOT, oil service, 6-month warranty and can be delivered in an enclosed trailer for an additional fee..

About Us:
Our promise: “We ensure you’ll find your ideal classic car.”
Just moments from the M25, or a 23-minute train ride from London Liverpool Street and the City, our Fairmont Sports & Classics showroom team in Brentwood is committed to changing the way classic vehicles are bought and sold.
Classic models across the decades
Our stocklist – with new vehicles arriving daily – spans popular and iconic vehicles from the 60s through to the late 90s and beyond.
Over two floors we present a curated selection of more than 50 sports and classic cars – plus several motorcycles – all fully inspected, checked and ready to drive away, delivered, or shipped overseas.
We buy well so you’re not at risk
The buying team comprises seasoned motor industry professionals: our backgrounds span retail sales, fleet management, auction, wholesale, and service, inspection and maintenance. Having grown up with, driven and loved countless classics ourselves, we know what our customers look for: models and marques piquing current market interest; examples that are in excellent usable condition and order; and vehicles that represent a sound, good value investment.
An online portal search for any classic model will list several hundred vehicles across the UK. The unfortunate truth is that the vast majority, under scrutiny, will prove sub-standard, misrepresented or require uneconomic restoration or repair. Finding a good vehicle without motor trade experience is not for the faint-hearted.
We purchase our cars from private owners, collections and specialist auction houses. We are exceptionally selective about which vehicles we buy, when and why; we reject over 90% of all those we see. Those we purchase match varying customer demands: ‘best in market’ and fully original; fully or partially restored examples; and sound, practical, fun classics to be driven and enjoyed.
Whether you’re an investor, an enthusiast, or simply keen to recapture your youth, we’d love to help you find your ideal classic.
Warranty:
We want every customer to be confident in their purchase. Whilst we sell nationwide, many of our sales are local, with some customers revisiting to buy, sell or service more vehicles.
To ensure a worry-free motoring experience, we include our own pre-owned vehicle warranty and provide full servicing and support on-site.
The price of every car includes a six-month warranty for major component failure: engine, transmission, and final drive. For the first three months, it covers the cost of any essential parts and labour. Thereafter we provide a 50% discount on any essential parts and labour for the remaining three.
We also operate our own on-site workshop offering specialist classic vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs. The same mechanics that inspected and prepared your vehicle for sale will be delighted to keep it in good working order throughout your ownership.
