This factory original 1972 Challenger Rallye with a #'s matching
engine appears to have had a rotisserie restoration. Stunning color
combination, even underneath is purple. Grab that pistol grip
shifter and see what that 340 can do! The Rallye replaced the R/T,
this is the top tog Challenger for '72.
EXTERIOR: At first glance you immediately notice the custom Prowler
Purple paint (The paint formula is included in case you need any
touch-ups in the future). It does have a metallic base coat that is
nicely laid out. The paint was then polished smooth as glass and
has a highly reflective finish. All the panels are aligned very
nicely. The doors open and close super easy. The white vinyl top
and white side strobe stripe are hard to find color options that
set this Challenger apart from the rest. It is properly outfitted
with all the Rallye package details including the hood, hood pins,
rims, and square tailpipes from the factory. The windshield appears
to have been replaced. The side and rear glass seem to be original
and have very minor scratches. The bumpers appear to be rechromed
and look great. Most of the trim pieces appear to be original and
have a nice shine to them. This is a super sharp car that is sure
to get countless compliments and thumbs up when hitting the
streets!
INTERIOR: The interior is properly equipped with all its factory
Rallye options. The bucket seats have been reupholstered and are
nice and comfortable. The rear seat has been reupholstered as well.
The door panels appear to be original and in very good condition.
The carpet and headliner have been replaced. The sun visors look
original and are excellent. It appears the padded dash has been
replaced. It has the Rallye dash which includes a tachometer and
clock. The clock works! The steering wheel is in remarkable
condition. The Hurst pistol grip 4-speed shifter has an
authoritative feeling of power when you grip it. This car is
interior is fantastic and has been completely restored to factory
standards!
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This has a numbers matching 340 four barrel
engine. These are spunky motors loved by Mopar enthusiasts. The
motor itself has a very stock looking appearance. The carburetor
has been upgraded to an Edelbrock AVS 2 with electronic choke and
an electronic ignition. The underside of the hood, fender wells and
firewall have all been painted smoothly matching the body color.
The fender tag is still attached. The latch and hardware has been
replaced. It features power steering and brakes. The brake master
cylinder and booster have been replaced. All the wiring and hoses
are routed appropriately. The radiator has been replaced. The
engine runs great and has more than adequate power. Overall, very
tidy and proper: battery is properly secured, the heat riser tube
is in place and even reproduction stickers were installed.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: This is a properly equipped and finished trunk
compartment! The underside of the trunk lid is painted the same
color as the body. The weather stripping has been replaced. Under
the rubberized mat the metal is in great shape. It's extremely
solid and painted to body color. The fuel filler neck has been
replaced. This trunk also has a full-size spare mounted on a rallye
rim and the factory jack. Overall, this trunk compartment is very
clean and restored with attention to detail!
UNDERSIDE: The undercarriage is very clean and tidy overall. Seems
to have a thorough rotisserie restoration, painted the same color
as the body. All the components look to have been removed,
restored, or replaced. The steering parts have been rebuilt
including new hardware. The control arms and shocks have been
restored to better than new. Both leaf springs have been replaced
and paired with coilover rear shocks. There's also a rear sway bar.
It has front disc brakes, and the calipers look fresh. All the
brake hardware and lines look new. The e-brake is hooked up and has
new hardware. It has a newer factory style dual exhaust with the
OEM exhaust tips. The gas tank has been replaced. It's very nice
and clean. Looking up at the motor it has been painted the factory
blue. There are no visible leaks. Proper 833 4-speed manual
transmission has been recently replaced. The 8 3/4" rear end has
Sure Grip gears and it has been painted black. The floors are body
color and appear original. A very detailed restoration with mostly
new components and hardware!
SERVICE: Our shop inspected the car and repaired the backup lights,
charging system, and lubricated the window tracks.
This is a knockout car that is both rare and beautiful! It's
numbers matching engine and rotisserie restoration make it stand
apart from the rest! This is the e-body that dreams are made
of!

that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
