　　This 1971 Mercedes Benz 280 SE is 1 of just 3,270 examples built and is powered by a fuel-injected 3.5L V8 engine that sends power to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. The brightwork also shows well but has a couple of scratches on the front grille and driver’s side door trim. Both are noted in the inspection report. The report also notes a crack in the driver’s side headlight and the passenger’s rear taillight. The car’s interior is in great condition, with no tears in the seats. The two-spoke ivory-colored steering wheel frames twin VDO round gauges that look in good condition with no fogging in the glass. 　　The top variant for the W111 Coupe was the Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 Coupe. Introduced for the 1970 model year, the 280 SE 3.5 was Mercedes' top-of-the-line coupe during its production years. Fitted with Mercedes' M116 3.5L V8 engine, these coupes featured design tweaks, including a broader and lower front grill, leading to these cars being known as 'flachkühler,' meaning flat radiator. Built until 1971, only 3,270 examples of the 280SE 3.5 Coupe were produced.
