1968 Jaguar E-Type Convertible with Low Mileage!Up for sale is this
1968 Jaguar XK-E Series 1 Roadster, finished in Royal Blue with a
blue vinyl top and blue leather interior, powered by a 4.2 liter
inline six-cylinder engine driving the rear wheels through a
four-speed manual transmission. This excellent example of the
original XK is a two-owner car, with low mileage and a thoroughly
documented history, is in concours-ready condition, needing nothing
to be ready for the next owner. The Series 1.5's, as they are
referred to, was a transition model for the XK. They were the
result of Jaguar working to accommodate various US safety and
emissions regulations, and as unobtrusively as they could. Changes
included removing the headlight covers, going with the smaller SU
carburetors, and flat rocker switches on the control panel instead
of the older toggle style found in Series 1's. Between the slender
bumpers and original style taillights mounted above them, these 1.5
XK's are still close to the original shape that remains one of the
most revered automotive designs in history, even for a company
known for them. Originally purchased on March 2 nd , 1968, the
owner covered 24,065 miles with this XK-E, keeping it garaged and
stored for its entire life. When the second and current owner
purchased it on February 24 th , 1989, it was kept in a climate
controlled garage, and maintained by British specialty shops in the
Carolinas. In 2003, a full cosmetic and mechanical restoration was
performed by Von's Restoration in South Carolina, and the XK has
been maintained in concours condition since that work was
performed. All service records are available from 1989 through to
the present. Extras included with the sale includes the jack,
hammer, tool kit, owner's manual, and maintenance manual.EXTERIOR
