There's only 1,160 mi on this high-end custom build of this real
GTO. This is World of Wheels type quality, it's as polished
underneath as it is on top. Wait 'til you sit inside and smell the
leather interior. Of course, shifting those gears and opening up
all 3 carbs will have you grinning ear to ear too!
EXTERIOR: Is this body made out of blue glass, because that's what
it looks like! It's literally straight as a laser beam head to toe.
The Cobalt Blue paint is polished like a mirror, it looks like you
could dive right into it. All the chrome and trim is either new or
restored. The power antenna retracts out of sight. All the glass
has been replaced. It has a great stance with some knockout
staggered size Billet Specialties wheels. They're 18s in front, 20s
in back and wrapped in some performance tires.
INTERIOR: Have you ever been in a boot shop in Nashville? That's
what the interior smells like! All genuine cowhide leather custom
stitched upholstery. Very comfortably bolstered seats, custom
molded door panels, custom made console and even the dash pad are
wrapped in leather with white stitching. There are even some
embroidered logos. Overhead has an Alcantara perforated headliner
and visors. New carpet down on the floor with embroidered mats. It
has a restored factory instrument panel with the Rallye gauge
cluster including a tachometer. A Pontiac retro stereo fits in the
factory hole and it has 4 speakers. Heater control panel is
upgraded with a modern Vintage Air unit. New reproduction deluxe
wheel is on a tilt polished column. Ron Francis wiring and fuse
panel. I like the cupholders in the console, but I like the 5-speed
shifter the best!
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Wow, the engine bay is as slick as the car
including the smooth firewall. At the heart of it is a 421 power
plant with Tri-Power carbs on top making 370+ hp. It has ceramic
coated intake and H.O. exhaust manifolds. The front of the motor
has a billet runner system including the brackets, pulleys chrome
alternator, mini polished AC compressor and modern power steering
with a remote reservoir. It also has a polished power brake system.
All the hoses are braided stainless, the hardware is polished
stainless. The Auto Rad polished aluminum radiator and overflow
bottle with dual electric fans keeps it cool. The motor is dressed
nicely with shiny parts!
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is boxed and upholstered to match the
interior. Under the trunk lid and the jamb is painted as slick as
the car. There is a CD changer, and the battery is hidden behind
the panel.
UNDERSIDE: It's painted as smooth as the top. You think I'm
kidding, take a look for yourself. The body was off the frame, the
floors are all pristine rust-free metal painted the same color as
the car. All the chassis was prepped and painted gloss black. The
suspension and steering have been completely rebuilt and upgraded.
In front it has a fatter sway bar and Hotchkiss adjustable tie
rods. In back it has a Hotchkiss sport system with boxed control
arms, extra tubular bracing, and a sway bar. It also has air
shocks. Great sounding dual exhaust system with Flowmaster
mufflers. The custom stainless fuel tank is polished like chrome.
The brakes are completely upgraded with drilled and slotted disc at
all four wheels with polished Wilwood calipers. It also has a
custom e-brake system. The battery is located in the trunk so there
are jumper leads and a master disconnect switch under the car.
Looking up at the motor it has a chrome oil pan and a high torque
starter. A heavy duty bellhousing connects to a Keisler trans
package that includes a Tremec 5-speed transmission and hydraulic
clutch. A rebuilt driveshaft goes back to a heavy duty Ford 9-inch
rear end with posi gears.
SERVICE: We ran the car through our shop and fixed the horn,
rebuilt the carbs, charged the a/c, replaced the heater control
panel, adjusted the heat shields on the manifolds, replaced the
tachometer, took it in for a front end alignment, replace a brake
light socket and lubed the window tracks.
Simply incredible! The fit and finishes throughout are top notch.
The new owner of this GTO will be very proud to show it off. The
best fun will be when he or she is out shifting gears!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
