We will start off with the exterior of this Grand Prix. When you
walk around it we can see that it has great fit of all of the
panels and that the body lines flow seamlessly from the front to
the back. All the gaps around the doors, hood and trunk are very
nice as well. You'll also notice that the glass is in excellent
condition along with the seals and weather stripping. This Pontiac
is showcased in the white color scheme that does an excellent job
of showing off the body. It does have Fender skirts along with
lower body moldings. Up front you can see that the grill is in
great condition along with the headlights and bumper. All the
emblems are very nice along with the rest of the trim and
stainless, and you'll notice it has the outside driver mirror. The
rear bumper is very nice, and it has the iconic louvered tail
lights that are all working as they should. To finish off the
stance it's sitting on the factory 8 lug wheels that have been
refinished to match the lower body moldings and grill. They come
with the beauty rings and centers along with white line tires.
Next, we will look at the interior of this 66. On the inside it's
done in the classic black color scheme with the wood grain accents.
We can see that it comes with power windows that are working as
they should. This Grand Prix sports the front buckets and rear
bench seat that are all in great condition from the covers to the
padding. It comes with the center console that has the wood grain
accents and automatic shifter along with having the vacuum tach.
Looking at the dash we can see that it is in beautiful condition
and that it has the under-dash auto meter temp and oil pressure
gauges. The speedometer is original and working as it should, and
it has the factory steering wheel as well. Both the carpet and the
headliner are in great condition and have an excellent fit. Inside
the trunk is all rock solid and we can see that it has been
detailed out with the jack and spare.
Finally, we will get to the driveline of this Pontiac. Under the
hood everything has a great detail, and we can see they did a great
job with the restoration. The power comes from the '69 model 400 V8
engine that's dressed with the finned valve covers. It's set up
with the four-barrel intake and carb with the custom air cleaner.
This Pontiac comes with power steering along with power brakes that
feature drums on all four corners. This is a factory AC car that is
hooked up and working. The 400 V8 is mated to the Turbo 400
automatic transmission that flows out back to the 10 bolt Rear end.
A new gas tank was installed at the time of the restoration. When
we look under this '66 we can see that all of the suspensions is in
great condition. You'll also notice that the floor pans are rock
solid along with the frame and show no signs of major abuse or
damage. On the highway this Pontiac is one of the best cruising
classics that you will find. It has plenty of power and the
transmission shifts through the gears with ease. You don't want to
miss out on this ready to cruise classic!
