1961 Daimler Sp250 LHD. Its white with red interior, beige carpet, soft top and tonneau cover. It is a very nicely maintained vehicle. The odometer reads 58,991 miles on it and based on the documentation with the vehicle appears to be correct. I have receipts of around $64,000 in restoration work conducted on the vehicle over the past few years.
The car is in exceptional condition. Restoration records show: 1.Renewed Red leather interior 2. Renewed carpet. 3. Paint redone in the original Old English white. 4. New 4 wheel dis brakes 5. New brake and fuel lines. All gauges, lights, wipers work. 6. New whitewall tires of the correct size. 7. Converted to electronic fuel pump and replaced some fuel lines. 8. Suspension updated 9. Radiator is solid, hoses and belts are like new, 10. Clutch and transmission work well. The underside of the car is immaculate and does not look like its been in the rain since the restoration work was completed. No rust on chassis or exhaust. Exceptionally clean. The engine compartment is beautiful. It comes with the original hard top that has now been redone, an excellent new beige tonneau cover and the original soft top and frame, in need of new canvas. Work Ive done since acquiring the car: 1. Engine re-tuned. 2. Carburetors professionally, rebuilt. 3. New plugs, points, wires, condenser. 4. Compression test is very good
125-150 psi. 5. Changed the engine oil and filter, added spin on filter. 6. Flushed the radiator and topped up with fresh water and anti-freeze. 7. Flushed gas tank and installed new fuel filter. 8. Changed the transmission fluid, topped brake and clutch fluids 9. Updated hard top headliner, latches, and weather stripping and
window gasket. 10.Many new chrome pieces such as tail light bezels, top of door trim,
window crank, hard top and soft top latches. It starts right up, sound terrific, drives great and has exceptional torque with the original hemi V8. The only real issues I am aware of are the following: 1. There a few minor spider cracks in the very front near headlights 2. Minor paint blemish on the driver door. 3. Upon full warm up theres a little white smoke out exhaust on acceleration. Compression checks-out well. 4. An updated handbrake is installed but is currently not working correctly. The original hand brake mechanism was never reinstalled but all parts are included, including new hand brake pads. It was originally built and delivered to a customer in Canada back in 1961.I acquired the car in 2022 as the second owner from a classic car broker. Original bill of sale and records indicate the majority of restoration work were conducted over a few years in Canada by original owner. It is an excellent example of a well maintained 1961 Daimler SP250. It shows the original family owners maintained and pampered for over 50 years. I am reluctantly parting with this exceptional car due to life change issues.
