1959 Triumph TR3A Four Speed. Triumph white with red upholstery, black hood, black full tonneau and side screens. Original U.K right hand drive car. The "TR3A" was a minor update from the TR3. The updates included the new wide front grill, exterior door handles, lockable boot handle and came with a full tool kit as standard (this was an option on the TR3). The total production run of the "TR3A" was 58,236. This makes it the third best-selling TR after the TR6 and TR7. The TR3A was so successful that the original panel moulds eventually wore out and had to be replaced. In 1959 a slightly modified version came out that had raised stampings under the bonnet and boot hinges and under the door handles, as well as a redesigned rear floor section. In addition, the windscreen was attached with bolts rather than the Dzus connectors used on the early "A" models. It is estimated that only 9,500 of the original 58,000 built survive today. This beautiful Triumph has been with its last owner for a few years who is an active member of the TR Register and enjoyed many shows and events in the car. This TR is very well sorted and benefits from the fitment of a 4 speed gearbox. Lots of money has been lavished on the car over the years as you can clearly see by the condition the car presents itself in today. A full 'Nut and Bolt' rebuild from the chassis upwards. Last year a new full set of splined hubs, wire wheels and knock on spinners were added as well as a 'High Torque' starter motor, with a full carburettor overhaul and service. In addition it benefits from a new radiator and an auto electric fan and recent full service. Over £7k spent A fantastic car to drive and with the upgrades is a pleasure to travel any distance and ideal for any car tours you may wish to partake in. The car is very solid with no sign of any corrosion and is as good underneath as it is on top, the paintwork displaying a great lustre and the upholstery and trim unmarked. All chrome in outstanding condition. The door shuts and panel gaps very good. The engine bay is very well detailed and the engine certainly runs as good as it looks. Starting on the button with strong oil pressure the car pulls well through the rev range and the new stainless steel sports exhaust gives a lovely exhaust note to boot. This is a TR3A that is ready to be enjoyed and a car that anyone would be very proud to own. It will certainly grace any showground or collection. Although now tax and mot exempt. Absolutely any inspection welcome. All Original parts have been kept with reams of paperwork from over the years. More photos upon request
