I bought this car with the intention of using it as it is while carrying out a rolling restoration. I have used it quite a lot and taken it to a few local classic car shows. In my opinion, it drives well and as it should for a 65 year old car. Which i have to say is a very, very different experience to todays cars. The engine sounds good and starts almost immediately with a little bit of choke. The gearbox selects gears well, but it does seem to have a whine, but im told it's typical of it age. It has had an electronic ignition system fitted and converted to negative earth. Recently fitted with a set of new steel wheels and tyres and new rear brake shoes. Body condition is overall good with no big dents or rust areas. Underside appears solid with just a small thumb size hole in the passenger front footwell. It would benefit from a good rubdown, clean up, and lanoguard treatment.
Interior isn't pristine, all seats are there, door cards aren't to bad, dash panel is incomplete and home made, needs sorting out but the original speedo and switches are still fitted and working, although the speedo is a little optimistic. Needs new door seal rubbers, and i would personally replace the front and rear window seals.
Overall, the condition is great for a 65 year old car that would respond well to a once over and small restoration. It's quite unique to drive and does draw quite a few looks from people who have no idea what it is. Worth mentioning that if you're after a fast and sporty car then this one really isnt for you.
