This White over Medium Red 1958 Mercedes-Benz 180a Sedan is said to
be an example of the first sophisticated unit body design from
Daimler-Benz. Referred to within Mercedes as the W120, or "Ponton,"
for its pontoon fenders, this 180a is defined by the seller as, "a
stunning, completely restored California car." Having grown up with
one just like it in his family as a child, he cites an 11-year
search for this W120 Mercedes. Ironically, he says he scoured
showrooms and museums all over the country, only to find it in
Southern California, near his home. Mercedes introduced the W120 in
1953 with the 180 model designation. The 180a was subsequently
launched in 1957, which makes the car offered here an example of
the second year of production for the Mercedes 180a. This 1958 W120
Benz is located in Sylmar, California.
