SALE PENDING to Istanbul!! This is a gorgeous 1958 Cadillac
Eldorado Biarritz that was a long-time rust-free California car
that is in one of the most stunning color combinations. This is a
Biarritz that we helped the present owner acquire over a decade ago
in California. It was a very nice example that had been well
maintained cosmetically and mechanically. Today, it presents
beautifully as a wonderful touring example and one that can be
shown at local and regional events. This Cadillac was owned by Mr.
Ronald Zappardino in La Jolla, California from 1985 until July
15th, 2013. By 2013, the Biarritz had accumulated a mere 61,888
miles from new. In 2013, we assisted our existing client, Michael
Goh of Malaysia, with acquiring the Cadillac. Before transporting
it, Mr. Goh invested approximately $30,000 with Cadillac specialist
Frank Nicodemus in New York. He added it to his collection of
American 1950's luxury cars and enjoyed them for the past 10 to 15
years. Before sending it back to us to sell, he rebuilt the
suspension, replaced the red leather interior and had it repainted.
The Cadillac now has 64,289 miles. The livery is in its original
Black. The paint quality is good and is very acceptable for local
and regional shows but not up to concours standards. The shine is
beautiful with terrific luster, but there is some orange peeling,
and the paint prep was just good. Most of the chrome and
stainless-steel trim is in beautiful condition. Certain items, such
as the door handles, are original and in good condition. The
bumpers and most of the other larger pieces have been refinished
and look great. The front grill and the rear trim pieces have been
repainted rather than replated but look correct unless closely
inspected. The wide white walled radial tires look terrific with
the gold-plated Saber wheels. The black painted parade top cover is
in excellent condition. The livery is as per its original
specification in Red Leather. The leather is all new and looks and
feels great. The door panels, dashboard and steering wheel have not
been restored and are in very nice original condition. The dash pad
appears to have been replaced at some point and looks nice.
Importantly, the steering wheel is in very nice condition which on
this vintage Cadillac conveys much related to how it has been kept
by its previous owners. The carpeting appears to have been replaced
at one point with correct material and is in good condition. The
engine compartment has been detailed and the original 365 cid V8
engine has been updated to a single four-barrel carburetor,
replacing the three two barrels that the Eldorados were delivered
with when new. The valve covers and air cleaner housings are
painted black rather than the original gold and the bat wing has
been replaced with a Series 62 air cleaner housing. The coolant has
been upgraded to the Evans coolant and axillary cooling fans have
been added, both excellent additions for touring. All of the major
suspension components and shocks have been replaced in the last
year, making the driving experience wonderful. Front and rear
seatbelts have also been added. We have this priced well. The
Hagerty No. 2 value is $124,000 and the No. 3 value is $75,900. We
believe this is a No. 2 minus condition. See the Hagerty Value
