PONCHO's story
Poncho was surrendered to the shelter because his owners were going through major life changes and he was not adjusting well. Poncho''s family of 5 had to move into a home with another family when they unexpectedly had to leave their rental. Poncho was becoming overwhelmed by the number of people, particularly children, going in and out of the house and yard and had snapped at two visiting children in the last two weeks. Poncho''s family loves him but was concerned that his behavior was escalating and did not want an incident, and since his situation would remain the same for an unknown period of time, they are hoping he will find a quieter home without small children. Poncho reportedly does well with adults and would prefer a home with only older children (teenaged and above) or adults. Poncho barks at dogs but may do well if properly introduced, so mutual visits are a MUST. Poncho has lived with cats before, so may be able to be part of a multispecies home. Poncho is housebroken and will stand at the door when he needs to potty. Poncho is accustomed to being loose in the house or outside on a runner, but will enjoy most a home that can provide the stimulation and exercise he craves to keep his mind and body fit and active! Poncho is getting neutered today, so exercise will also be important to keep Poncho from getting paunchy ;)
