My story
Hazel is currently in foster care and here is what her foster family has to say:Hazel is a couch potato, she loves to hang out on the couch while we work, she will wait for you all day to get snuggles and belly rubs.
She has done extremely well with my 5 year old son and my resident dog, Ally. She has shown no interest in playing with toys or chew toys, but does get excited when we have dance parties or if Ally wants to play for short stints.
She is completely potty trained and will let you know that she needs to go outside.
She is familiar with several basic commands such as sit, lay down, and off.
We are still working on come and leave it, which has been hard because she is not super food motivated.
Hazel will also need additional leash training as she is a puller and gets very excited when out in the neighborhood, and because of her size, it can be difficult to get her to refocus on me.
Hazel is a reactive pup so barking dogs and cats running across the street cause her to jump, pull and whine; so she will definitely need an owner that can control her and work on her reactivity. Because of this reactivity, she would need to be introduced to all additional dogs and cats in any home that she potentially will go in, I believe with the correct introductions she will cohabitate with additional pets in the home. And I also believe that with the correct amount of training the reactivity could be fixed as well.4/24/21 We have been working on her leash reactivity with the use of a gentle leader and it has helped immensely.
Hazel will still need additional training but she learns very quickly and is eager to please.
She is definitely ready to find that furever home.
