ARLENOUQUE's story
Arlenouque and Bandit were surrendered to the shelter because their owner had to move out of state for a family emergency. The dogs are siblings and were born at home, where they lived until now. Arlenouque has had very minimal contact with new people and is extremely shy. He is difficult for strangers to approach. Arlenouque has lived indoors and is house trained. He walks well on a leash, however, the difficulty for a new family will be holding on to the leash so that he does not get loose if he experiences something new and scary while on his walk (which is very likely). Arlenouque is most comfortable with other dogs, and is affectionate to people once he trusts them. Due to his timid behavior, Arlenouque cannot go to a home with children 12 years and younger. He has not lived with cats or any other animal species besides dogs. Arlenouque is hoping to find a quiet home that is active and will spend some time gently socializing him out in the world.
