Wallis aka PO's story

　　Wallis is a Shepherd mix, 60#s, 2yo. He is shy at first then quite friendly and social. He loves attention and other dogs with proper intros. He is very fond of food so could be easily trained as he loves his treats. Older children recommended as he does like to jump up and we are working on this habit as a 60# bear hug can knock down tiny kiddos. He does have some food urgencies (he loves food!) so kids under 13 not recommended as he will grab food out of their hands and could hurt them. 　　Wallis is heartworm positive BUT don't let that stop you from being interested in this guy as your forever dude. EAPL will cover all the vet care for his heartworm treatment. You just need to provide the TLC for 2 months (he starts his injections the week of 9/30/2018) and then he will be on his way to being a normal Colorado active dog! Once the heartworms are cleared then he is good to go. Put in an application and one of our volunteers can talk to you about heartworm and the process.
