The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer and need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments. To adopt, we need to receive an application (link to the online version found below). Some pets could be in foster care. For information on a specific animal, please visit our adoption center or email us at [email removed]! Visit us on Facebook: /humaneswa This sweet little baby girl is Sunflower, a female medium-haired brown/grey tabby with hints of light orange. She has beautiful marbled stripes in her fur pattern! Sunflower is approximately 7 months old (as of 11/27/13). Sunflower's rescuers noticed she had a slight limp. She didn't seem to be in pain or have balance issues, but it was noticeable. When we took her in and had her tiny paw x-rayed, she had only slight damage from a minor fracture that didn't heal properly. But to be on the safe side and to improve moving around for her, we had two of her toes amputated. It shouldn't affect her balance at all, and Sunflower will no longer have a limp! She's a sweet little lady who needs a safe and loving home! Visit our cat adoption center during Saturday open hours or contact us to meet Sunflower! Negative for FIV/FeLK, current on vaccinations and neutered. Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and receive immediate vet care upon intake before being available for adoption. Vet records are provided to adopters. Read the descriptions thoroughly and note the specific personalities or special criteria we recommend (some are not good around kids, other cats, dogs, etc.). We cannot accept applications from minors or legal dependents. If you feel your home might be the right forever home and you would like to adopt this cat, visit /formsinfo.html to submit an online application form. U[dated 11/7/13.
