Specialized Allez, Jim Merz 56CM. This is a high quality lugged steel framed, hand-brazed in Miki, Japan. Jim Merz legendary frame designer and custom bike builder, Strawberry Bicycles, supervised the production this line of bikes. The actual design, and frame geometries were done by Marc DiNucci former Oregon State Road Champion and Top National Track /Pursuit racer. Also, Marc DiNucci was earlier working directly under Jim Merz hand building custom bikes before coming to Specialized. This bike features geometries specified by Marc himself to enhance climbing abilities as well as subtle details that create an outstanding, highly responsive performance bike. Outfitted with Shimano 600 components, 700c Alloy clincher rims, and feature Specialized Stem and drop bars to create a flawless racing machine. The brake handles have been changed over to Shimano 105 Aeros for better performance and aesthetics. Standover height is measured @ 32.5 inches, and has been maintained by Jeff at The Bike Shop who replaced the tires to Conti Ultras and tuned it.

　　I have been told the tubing is either Tange or Ishiwata as Specialized was using both during this time. Thicknesses varied depending on the frame size with smaller bikes getting thinner light tubing.

　　I really love this bike but it is way too tall for me and while I absolutely love the ride it just doesn't fit. I have ridden this on a metric century and have been very impressed with the handling and ride. It is a beautiful bike and while it shows some of its age in the paint (chips) it functions 100%. Like I stated earlier I love this bike and selling only due to the size issue. I am pretty firm on the price and would rather sell it whole rather than cannibalize it for other projects. As far as Specialized Allez models, this one is priced to sell quickly. Edit for price drop. Need to sell this!
