　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. As an all-volunteer group, we need advance notice to schedule appointments. We cannot schedule same-day appointments. To adopt, we need to receive a completed application. Some animals may be in foster homes. Before choosing a pet, we recommend meeting the pet or asking questions first. For information on a specific animal, please visit our adoption center or email us at [email removed]! This beautiful lady is Lula, a stunning chocolate-point Siamese female. Lula is around 3-4 years of age. Like many Siamese, Lula is slightly cross-eyed. Her eyes are perfectly healthy, but she does have somewhat poor depth perception. It may make her a little more skittish around new people or new environments, since she feels like she's at a disadvantage. Lula is a typical Siamese, so expect the same personality: bossy and a little dominant, close bonding with her "humans," not too fond of other humans, etc. Lula has spent some time in foster care, and now adjusted beautifully to the adoption center. Her social skills surprised us - Siamese don't usually get along too well with so many other cats! But with a little patience, Lula seems to adjust well. Lula has a passionate distrust of dogs, and does not do well at all around dogs of any size or type. She met a Chow Chow and a Chihuahua while in foster care, and wanted nothing to do with any dog at all! But she will socialize well with another cat or two. Her fear of dogs might have something to do with her poor depth perception. She would do okay with older children, but will not want to be picked up or held. Lula needs a calm, quiet home where she's treated like a member of the family - she will naturally assume she's head of the household! She is Siamese, after all!
