　　More Info: Emaciated at rescue, picked up and being rehabilitated by BRR. These 2 sweet mares will be available for adoption after rehabilitation. They are located in Illinois at a foster home. 2nd photo taken by Humane Society prior to rescue and during rehab at foster home. They would be a nice driving team! The small fee that Blue Ridge Rescue asks its adopters to pay represents only a fraction of the costs involved in rehabilitating a rescued equine (or other animal). There are months of feed to bring the rescue up to weight, veterinarian bills, training, fuel, worming, farrier care, - just to name a few of the expenses involved. Blue Ridge Rescue has no paid employees, not one person receives a salary. This is a labor of love. If it were not for financial contributions and hours of time from Blue Ridge Rescue volunteers, we would have to stop rescuing abused and neglected equines. The fee is simply a token toward the expense involved in transforming the rescued equine from a deeply wounded and hurt animal into a loving and purposeful animal.
