Meet Rigatoni! Rigatoni is a 4 year old, 17 lb. long legged chihuahua mix. This sweet boy was rescued from Tijuana and is a true rescue. Hes had a hard life but it hasnt hardened him one bit. He loves to be loved and just wants to be by your side. He curls in a tight ball to sleep next to you at bedtime. Hes housetrained and really good at waiting until youre home from work or letting you sleep in before he needs to go out. Hes a little jumpy with new things but warmed up to the dogs in the home after a few days. Hes still unsure about the cats. Ive heard him barking a little at them a few times, but mostly tries to avoid these strange fluffy things. With his long legs he gets excited and runs like a greyhound in a race around the yard. Hes only cried a little when left alone and hasnt been a big barker in the yard. Even though he enjoys the yard and likes to run, hes happier on someones lap. I dont know much about his rough start in life, but I know he deserves a loving family of his own who can make him feel safe and be the dog he was meant to be. He will take a little work being introduced to new things, but will be well worth it. Rigatoni is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $250 which helps the rescue cover medical expenses and supplies. If Rigatoni sounds like the right fit for your family, please apply!
All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.
We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience. To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.
All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.
Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.
