Hi!
I'm Piper!
I'm new to Summit Dog Rescue and they're learning more about me every day, and you can tell from my photos that I'm a beautiful, gorgeous and smart girl!
I'm about a year old, 48 lbs., and I'm a mix of Border Collie and Queensland Heeler. I'm working on my housetraining and have it mostly handled except for a couple of nervous peeing incidents. I've got medium energy, but that will probably increase once I get settled in my forever home. They say I might make a great agility pup with my smarts, and I also might be good at herding if my adopters would be interested in testing me for that.
Guess what:
I know how to roll over! I get silly when I see my reflection in the window! I know Sit, Down, Stay, Sit Pretty, Kiss, and I can turn a circle in both directions. I'll wait to go outdoors, I'll wait for my turn to catch the ball indoors, I'll wait for my turn when the other pups are getting trained, I take treats politely, and I love to play catch with a ball! I've got great recall, and I love to snuggle during TV time and bedtime. I'm partially crate-trained, which means I'll go in and lie down if you need me to. I LOVE chewy toys! That means I can be a heavy chewer, so I'd love it if you gave me appropriate toys.
I'm working on my leash skills and I'm learning I don't need to guard my toys around other dogs. I really like other dogs so hopefully soon I'll be OK around all of this, especially since I'm a fast learner. I previously lived in a house with a dog and a cat. New people are scary and I need to be introduced to strangers carefully, but with love and patient training I'll try to learn to trust them.
All I want is someone I can love, who loves me, too!
