Pete's story
I play hard, I love hard!
They call me Pete and I am an energetic teen boy cat with a zest for life! I just love people and other cats
and dogs too! Ill admit, I may play hard, but I also love hard!
Pete is a purrfect example of some of the behavior challenges that can occur with a solo kitten. We dont know if Pete was the only kitten in the litter or whether he was separated from his siblings, but what we can tell is that he missed out on the formative time with his mother and other kittens
the time when kittens learn boundaries. With the help of volunteers, Pete has learned a lot and of course with age comes wisdom so he is becoming one awesome cat!
Pete still sometimes gets excited and plays a little rough, something some other cats dont understand. He actually has the potential to be a feline mayor
a friend and role model to all cats he meets. He had a good feline friend, Tiffany, but she got adopted. He is now making friends with the kitten Ramona and they are great together.
After an interactive play session, Petes abundant energy is spent and he settles in for a snuggle and just relaxes near you. Pete is also trained to walk with a harness and a leash and frequently allorubs you to let you know he is having a good time and to touch base with you.
Pete needs a cat savvy person who will understand his zest for life and help him to continue to blossom into the best cat he can be. He has so much to offer the right person and their cat or dog
are you the ones to play hard and love hard with Pete?
When you come into the shelter, Pete will be front and center calling for attention. He will meow and paw at the window inviting you in to spend some time with him.
You can meet Pete at the Coronado Animal Care Facility. The facility is open daily between 9:00 am and 11:30 am and 12:30 pm and 4:00 pm (except major holidays). It is located at 1395 First Street at the south end of the Ferry Landing complex.
If you are interested in adopting Pete, you must first come in and meet him. If it seems like a good match, the next step is to complete a cat adoption application. Cat adoption applications are available at the facility or cat adoption applications may be completed online. A PAWS of Coronado Cat Adoption Counselor will contact you within 24-48 hours to discuss your application.
You can read about the adoption process on the Adoption Information page.
