Peppermint's story
Meet Peppermint, she is about 6mo old (birthday 3/7/2018) and about 25 pounds. Her adopter's work schedule changed and he found he had no time for her so they returned her to EAPL five months later... Notes from her EAPL foster home after a few days, " She is a very active dog, incredibly high energy and very busy (i.e. sneaky little boo and likes to get into things OMG how cute could that be until she gets trained!) She is doing well in her crate while Im at work and at night. Shes not fully housebroken but we are getting her on a schedule, ONLY a couple of accidents in the house. She would do best with a yard to run in and a buddy to run off some of her seemingly boundless energy! She is OK with my cat, but a little too interested sometimes and I have to back her down. She does have a pretty high prey drive (rabbits and squirrels get great attention) so skittish cats would probably not work well with her. Dustin said shes good with kids, but she is a jumper so probably older kids would be best. Im working with her on greeting manners and understanding off." She has a bit of training, knows no, how to sit, and her name. Not sure she understands come but shes so friendly that as soon as you start talking to her, she runs right to you. Super food motivated, so training is absolutely possible. I am working with her, and shes already improving. I think she spent a lot of time in her crate and didnt get the exercise, play, or interaction that she really needed. Peppermint needs a yard, a buddy and an active family is that YOU?
