My story
Orangina is a unique feline who has slowly come out of her shell in her foster home. While she may never be a cuddly cat, she has made great strides in seeking out and accepting affection. She's a gentle soul by nature, and her progress is a testament to her resilience. Despite her progress, Orangina remains cautious and protective of her personal space. She'll give signals when she wants attention, but she can quickly change her mind and swat if she feels uncomfortable. Quick or sudden movement can also send her into hiding, but she'll recover more quickly if she trusts you.
Orangina is a four on the floor kind of cat who doesn't like to be picked up, but she does sometimes walk across her foster mom's lap. However, she prefers to stay in the open unless she's spooked. Getting her into a carrier is a challenge, but she'll enter it for treats, just not when you want her to. Her foster family is slowly working on finding ways to get her into a carrier on demand, which will be useful for when it's needed.
Orangina enjoys routine and has developed a nightly routine with her foster mom. Most nights, when her foster parent gets into bed, she pops out from under the bed and jumps onto a cardboard scratcher for a few scratches. Then she jumps onto the bed for a few bedtime treats and some pets if she's in the mood before leaving.
Orangina would do well in a quiet home without small children or dogs, where she can feel safe and continue to blossom. She prefers time to herself and may hide when friends come over, but she'll come out of hiding almost immediately after they leave. She loves watching the goings-on of her home from afar and particularly enjoys a high-up perch from which she can observe the world.
