My story
Olive you furever!Hi pals! My name is Olive. Even though my name is a little salty, I’m a super sweet gal. I’m a 5-year-old, 40-pound, (adorable) shepherd mix. I was rescued from The Animal Pad’s partner shelter in Ensenada a few months back. When I arrived in the states, I was in seriously ruff condition. I was severely underweight, covered in wounds, and had TVT on my cute little snout. I also had distemper, which left me with minor tremors in my hind legs and jaw.Although the odds were against me, I’m a fighter and kept pushing. After months of chemo for the TVT, I’m officially a healthy girl! The distemper tremors will never go away, but they don’t slow me down one bit. I have been spayed too! I’m so thankful that I was rescued and nursed back to health by my foster. Now, I’m ready to live a long, happy life with my furever fam!I’m a friendly girl with a dash of sass. When I first met my neighbor dogs I growled and was defensive. A few days later, we were all best buds! I adore playing with doggy friends, but I just need a proper introduction and some time to warm up. There’s nothing that I love more than chasing squirrels and lizards in the yard, so I don’t think I’d do well with cats. I love my hoomans and meeting new people! I don’t have much experience with kids, but I think I’d like them too. The only problem is that I’m a total foodie and I haven’t learned how to gently take treats yet. For that reason, I might be best around older hoomans. When I’m not playing with my puppy friends, you can find me pawtroling the backyard for critters or being active with my hoomans. I’m a great hiking or running buddy, but will never turn down a good old fashion walk either! Although I’m relatively active, I also enjoy kicking back to relax or settling down for some snuggles. I’m the best of both worlds!I’m a polite pooch who is totally house and bathroom trained. I do well on the leash, but I go a little nuts when I see a squirrel. I’m also crazy about treats. I do a little kangaroo hop and dinner time and love snacks! As I mentioned, I need to learn how to take treats gently and would love to keep training with you. After a very ruff start to my life, I’m ready for a new beginning. I think I’d do best in a home with another active, friendly pooch that I can play with. I would love to be your adventure buddy, but will settle for a few long walks as well! All in all, I’m a loving lady looking for a special person who will love me right back. I pawmise Olive you furever! My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.
