My story

　　Thank you so much for looking into Wags and Whiskers' The Cat House for the newest addition to your family.

　　My name is Mozzie; that's been my name for as long as I can remember, ever since the only family I have ever known had brought me home as a tiny little kitten. I was so loved and sooo spoiled, that I became a very LARGE kitty with my family, and they loved every bit of my extra floof. However, my family hit hard times and we started living in our car for a while. Finally my mom got really sad and explained to me that a housing unit finally approved my family, but they did not allow pets, and even though they tried and tried to be approved by pet-friendly housing, but we ran out of time and my family had to make the hardest decision ever, and take me to surrender. Fortunately for me, they chose Wags and Whiskers to surrender me to, and after only 3 days with them, they have run lots of tests, including urinalysis and bloodwork to determine my overall health. Unfortunately, they told me that I was in the early stages of my liver acting up, and that I needed to go on a life-saving diet ASAP. So now, I am on a prescription diet of Liver Care food to help get my stats and size back to normal. The staff here keep telling me that I will be able to run, climb and jump like the other kitties here at the rescue before I know it! They also tell me that if I had kept up with my previous diet, routine and health, I would likely only live another 4 years or so; that's half the life expectancy of an average sized cat! I am so excited to start this new journey in life and to be able to play and really be a cat again!

　　At Wags and Whiskers' The Cat House, we do not discriminate against any animal based on their age, current health, or pre-existing medical condition(s). We are a dedicated team of volunteers, with a strong passion for animals and a very special bond with the injured, abused and abandoned. Due to the fact that we work so closely with qualified veterinarians, we are able, and willing, to take on the most complex medical cases to help give them the chance, that ever animal deserves, at a full, happy and healthy life. Our primary goal is giving hope to the hopeless; your adoption helps make a difference.

　　All of our cats are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, FIV/FeLV tested, and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.

　　Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each cat. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left in a box on the side of a road, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners.

　　Please take into consideration that owning a pet is a 10+ year commitment and discuss with all members of your family before submitting an application to adopt.

　　If you have already filled out an online adoption application with our organization in the last 6 months you do not need to fill out another application.
