My story
The chocolatey delight!Hello there! My name is Kinder. I am a 1-year-old, neutered male, Whippet-Dachshund mix weighing around 17 lbs. I am here because The Animal Pad rescued me from a shelter in Ensenada called Los Adoptables. I am pretty much all bathroom trained. I am also still learning to be the best boy on the leash, and a helping paw will help me! I'll elaborate more on that in a bit. I have gone to Board and Train too and I have graduated with honors! Just some more practice and I will be aces.About my past, I have had quite a journey. But it has made me grateful and willing to learn. I am super stoked with my foster family and my love for them is boundless. The love runs so deep that sometimes I dont know what to do with it, and I make cute corn-cobbles or nibbles on my mama's arm or ears. This is totally out of affection, but feel free to re-direct me to a blankie or a toy! I am a major cuddler and I am always ready to nap as close to my mama as possible. Touch is truly my love language. I do get a tad jealous when love is being shown to other dogs, and that's when I get more cuddly-wuddly to get back into getting all the lovin'. But when mama is busy, I just go to the crate and nap it off. I like to cuddle with the other dogs at home too! Regarding dogs, I am very fond of them, but I am a lil stinker and I pester them endlessly to play or for attention. Ditto for cats. So if I have to have a foster sibling, they should be able to put up with my demanding way of playing(until re-directed) or show me how to calm a notch down! When I met lil kids, I was distant and a hint nervous, but well-mannered. I think time and confidence-building can help me in that area! I am a curious boy and like to run outside to check what's going on and, errmm, bark at it. Just try the recall though and I will show you how good I am!I have had a few naughty moments here and there on the leash and I can be a punk like that! The Board and Train did me really good and helped me learn. I used to be leash reactive and get worked up and barky at other dogs, but I have been good with redirection back to the handlers with treats. I still need to keep practicing my social manners and cant pawmise not barking at all, but I have gotten better at listening and bringing my focus back to my walker. I do prefer that my person walks me by myself(or with another person walking my dog friends) to make sure I have the attention I need when I start to act naughty. Since I am so sensitive about the leash, all my doggie introductions should be off-leash ideally. I do absolutely love dogs, but off-leash is the best for success! My foster mom says that I am a REALLY good boy, with a hint of neediness for love that I totally deserve! My perfect furever home would be one with a patient family. With a slow and off-leash introduction, I could fit in a home with cats and doggos. I would actually be perfect for someone with a yard to minimize potty breaks outside. My adopters will also get all the videos and training tips to help continue what I have learnt so far. My adoption fee is $400 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/##953866##
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kinder, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
