JOJO's story
JoJo scored a pawjama party with a staff member recently! This is what she said about him =)
`My friend Emilean and I had a fantastic time with Jojo on the overnight Pawjama Party foster! Jojo exceeded all of my expectations! First I put him in the grooming tub at the shelter and gave him a good scrubbing. He was soft and gentle and didn`t seem to mind the bath at all, in fact when I got him out of the tub he did some zoomies.
Next, we headed thru the drive thru Starbucks then on to the house. He walked around a little, checking out the lay of the land, but then kept by my side for the most part. In fact he didn`t really let me out of his sight all night and through the morning. He was quick to warm up to my friend and engaging equally with the both of us throughout the night. I took him in the backyard and kept him on leash. We have only a 4 ft fence and 4 -5 ft walls. He was calm, and we eventually played a low-key game of fetch. He was interested in food but polite about it, did not beg. He also knows his name, the words `sit` and `shake`. Again, he kept me in his sights throughout the evening, I found it very endearing though.
Jojo slept on the floor directly next to me, and he slept soundly. Each time I tried to sneak off to get water or use the restroom, he woke up out of a deep sleep and accompanied me there, as if to check on me, once he found me to be ok, would lick me on the knee and go lay back down. He did this about three times, he was incredibly attentive. When I got out of the shower or called his name he would be right there, and come around the corner. He was polite, gentle, playful with toys and carried them around for the most part like a big puppy! He strikes me as a pup who has recently grown into his adult body. Jojo is a quick learner, he is actively learning about what a crate is and not jumping up on people when excited. He seems to understand a simple `no` as a correction, like when he tried to get on the furniture.
It was a great time overall, I am really glad I had to opportunity to get to know this loving boy.`
