Welcome Joey, a 1.5-year-old papillon-spaniel mix, and a professional napper, rescued by TRD from the HSOIC in March 2018. This pint sized pupper weighs 7 pounds, which makes him a good fit for families in any living situation (apartments, houses, condos, etc.).
According to his foster mom, Joey is initially shy and timid, and he takes a while to warm up to new people. But once he can trust you, he is very affectionate and cuddly. He is great with kids, dogs, and even cats in his foster home. He likes to be around dogs and cats, although he is not interested in playing with them. Joey would rather cuddle and sleep with his foster mom all day everyday on a comfortable bed in a comfortable corner of the house.
To keep his svelte 7 pound body in shape, Joey likes to go leashed walks every morning. Joey is naturally good on the leash and has been non-reactive to new things he has encountered on walks. His foster family is also working on teaching him commands like Sit, Stay and Name Recall.
If you are looking for an sweet and affectionate couch potato doggo, Joey is the perfect match for you. Although he might take a little while to come out of his shell, once he does open up to you, Joey will be your most loyal and loving companion. If you would like to meet Joey, please fill out an adoption application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet.http://therescueddog.org/2015/dog-adoption-application/
