Jay needs a new home --- Social services to protect the elderly prefers that dog be re-homed because father tries to walk Jay, but uses a walker, so has fallen. Since he has dementia and does not always have a caregiver present, unable to stop father from trying to walk Jay. Jay would do best where she can access the yard from one level. Currently, she has to go down a steep flight of stairs to get to the yard, and she is probably a senior dog (8-10 yo). She needs patient, gentle people who can understand and deal with her timidness. Jay walks on a leash nicely and does not pull, once she is taken to a pleasant open space she enjoys her time out. She is v ery timid. Extremely Shy. Frightened by most people. Her personality may completely change for the better if she were in a better situation. Jay is leash trained, but if she sees something like a deer, she has tried to pull and chase in the past. I didn't encounter anything like that the two times I walked her, and she was pleasant to walk, unlike some other dogs who pull constantly.
