Dutch - needs foster's story

　　Dutch needs a foster. He is about 1yr old (we gave him a birthday of 9/15/2017.) Dutch is playful, active and housebroken. He was found at large and no one claimed him. However at the shelter he tested positive for heartworm and unfortunatly this is a death sentence for dogs in some states as they will not treat this very treatable (and curable condition.) On 9/15 EAPL heard about him being kept in a back part of the shelter and not shown at adoptions or even given any attention. He was just waiting for his time to come up... EAPL took him and started his heartworm treatment there with a temporary foster. NOW he needs to come to EAPL and continue his heartworm treatments... email us at [email protected] and ask us about Dutch!

　　Dutch is heartworm positive BUT don't let that stop you from being interested in this boy. EAPL will cover all the vet care for his heartworm treatment. You just need to provide the TLC for just 60 +/- days and then he will be on his way to being a normal Colorado active dog! Once the heartworms are cleared then he is good to go. Put in an foster application and one of our volunteers can talk to you about heartworm and the process.
