My story
Dudley is a four month old puppy with a severe heart condition.
He arrived at our rescue very sick, after medical evaluation we made him an appointment at UC Davis with a specialist. The soonest appointment available was a month out, we honestly didn’t know if he would survive that long. We found him a fospice home, so he’d be in a loving home environment and he is a fighter. Following his UC Davis appointment was some good news, as well as bed news. Dudley has more congenital heart defects than expected, as well as a couple of anomalies. The good news is he should be able to live a mostly normal life on medication for 4-7 years. His foster mom said the medication is helping tremendously. He is running and playing like a normal puppy!
He does well with dogs, cats, even chickens, and he is mostly house broken. Dudley is ready to find his forever home. Please fill out an online application if you’d like to have this special guy join your family.

Thank you so much for looking into wags and whiskers for your next family member.
All of our pets are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested if over 6 months old and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.
Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each dog. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left tied to a tree, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners. Please take into consideration that owning a pet is a 10+ year commitment and discuss with all members of your family before submitting an application to adopt.
If you have already filled out an online adoption application with our organization in the last 6 months you do not need to fill out another application. Please call or email us to schedule an appointment.
If you are interested in meeting this pet please apply to adopt at

if the pet is still available for adoption and you are approved to adopt we will contact you to set up a meet and greet appointment.
