Dolly's story

　　Dolly was queen of the EAPL rodeo parade float (not a bad turnaround given that she was minutes from euthanasia in Texas!), and now just needs to find the home of her dreams. Dolly is a GREAT, mellow, potty-trained, trust worthy alone at home, quiet addition to a household that is looking for one dog to spoil and take on walks. She is wonderful on a leash, happily roams and stays in her yard, and has great return call on walks. She is so appreciative and loyal to her humans. She has done great at the Farmers Market and the Brunos Bash event but does not like other alpha dogs. Dolly has had her teeth cleaned, her spay surgery, and she is up to date on vaccines. Dolly is currently undergoing treatment for heart worm, but this is 100% curable and 100% EAPL paid, and her foster momma can tell you all about the logistics and details. Dolly is patient with her 20 month old human foster sister, but not at all patient with the large, male bully breed in the house (otherwise they would keep her; she is that much of a gem and a dream walker with her foster momma). After years of fending for herself and her puppies on the streets of Houston, Dolly wants her own couch, her own humans, delicious treats and Colorado adventure stories, and she does not want to share with another dog, and that seems reasonable. She is older (8 years per the shelter in Texas, 5 years with a hard life behind her per her Colorado vet). She would be a great companion for someone who works from home (no barking on conference calls!), someone looking for a dog to share life and walks with daily, or even an older person looking for companionship. She is a gentle soul who will be so grateful to settle into the good life. She is about 45 lbs and likely a chocolate lab mixed with a low rider (bully type or basset hound?)
