　　Dixie is a 9-month-old female Basset Hound mix who has already been spayed. Before we start on her description--the shaved areas on her front legs are from her recent trip to be spayed and are nothing to be concerned about. Dixie came to PAHS as an owner turn in when her family could no longer take care of her. She has a gorgeous deep brown coat with white markings. Dixie weighs 20 pounds so she is considered to be a small dog. She has a precious personality and is very affectionate and sweet. Dixie would do well in a home with children and other dogs because she has a very laid back personality. She gets along well with everyone at PAHS. Dixie is active, frisky, and playful. She would enjoy taking nice walks on her leash with her new family. Dixie's former owners said she is 'partly crate trained' so with just a little patience and consistent training we believe Dixie would be easy to house train. This is just a super little doll who is ready to go home with some lucky adopter. Could it be you?

　　Dogs and puppies may be adopted for a fee of $120. All cats and kittens may be adopted for $25. Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter certificate, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heartworm negative.
