Dahlia's story
My name is Dahlia. Kind of sounds like a soap opera star, and in a way, that is what my life has been. I am only three, but I have lost my owner due to her death. Her niece came to pick me up in another state or I probably would have ended up in a kill shelter. I was kept in my owner's home for three weeks after her death. Someone came and fed and watered me, but I was scared and so lonely. When I got here, I had to have surgery for bladder stones. That was pretty scary too, but I am now beginning to see life can be fun again. I have been playing with so many other dogs. I absolutely love to play. I have been spayed, and I am up to date with my shots. I may take a bit to warm up to you, but that is because of what has been happening in my life recently. After I know you, I want to be with you every minute. Once I know I am safe, I am very loyal and a great family companion. I LOVE toys and laps more than anything in the whole world. I must admit that I am afraid of small children, so I really do prefer a home with older people and maybe even another small dog or two. I would give anything to be someone's treasure again--I want a forever home so much. Please come by and see me. Oh, and a doggy door comes with me..........yep, I am potty trained. If you are looking for a little gal and have lots of love to give, I am your girl. Put in an application and my volunteer will call you.
